"Kikaida" Goes to Maui
Maui Matsuri 2005 - Saturday, May 14th, Maui Community College.
Kikaida will headline the entertainment at the 5th Annual Maui Matsuri sponsored by the Japanese Cultural Society of Maui. The Kikaida Appearances are sponsored by Meadow Gold Dairies.
The Maui Matsuri will also feature a Bon Dance, Taiko drumming, saimin and natto eating contest, games and cultural displays.
Ban Daisuke, who played the part of the denim clad biker Jiro, in "Kikaida" thirty years ago, will greet fans in person that day, and had this to say to fans in Maui, "It's been 30 years since Kikaida aired in Hawaii over the old KIKU TV, and while I was invited to Oahu and the Big Island, I never had the opportunity to visit Maui. I look forward to meeting fans, old and new at the Maui Matsuri."
Appearances will be at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm on stage, and immediately following, Ban will sign autographs at the Generation Kikaida Booth.
KutMaster Spaz of "dis 'n dat" fame on OC 16, will mc the Kikaida and Friends appearances, and fans will be treated to Kikaida Rap by Spaz.
