|SUNDAY JULY 26, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM, ROOM 8
GODZILLA & THE MASTER OF MONSTERS: Join author August Ragone (Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters, Chronicle Books) for a visual tribute to Japanís Master of Monsters, Eiji Tsuburaya, the man who created the analog special effects for Godzilla and invented the kaiju eiga (giant monster movie) genre. Much like Derek Meddings (Thunderbirds), Tsuburaya and his team built elaborate miniature city and landscapes, which were summarily destroyed in pyrotechnical conflagrations or by men in monster suits. See over a hundred rare, behind-the-scenes photographs from some of his major films, such as Rodan, The Mysterians, Mothra, and The War of the Gargantuas, all in one colossal presentation!
I will also be signing copies of Eiji Tsuburaya at the Chronicle Books booth (#1506) on Saturday, July 25 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
