Kikaider Code 02

The title itself caught me by surprise. This year I won't be attending the San Diego Comic-Con, but a friend of mine is attending for the first time. Last week while we were both going over the comic con schedule and planning out his plan of attack what to do when he reaches there, something caught my attention unexpectedly. For those of you familiar with CMX Manga, it's a division of DC Comics. CMX will have a panel discussion/presentation on the first day of San Diego Comic-Con called CMX: From Japan with Love, from 1:30pm - 2:30pm. In this event, they will feature manga titles Appleseed, Kamikaize Kaito Jeanne, Testarotho, Madara, Land of the Blindfolded, Tenjho Tenge, and Kikaider Code 02.

Kikaider Code 02? Okay, I don't know what this Kikaider Code 02 is all about, and I'm not sure if this is supposed to be new material that was released in Japan recently, or something from the old Kikaida manga that is just being republished. Anyway, for those of you who are attending the San Diego Comic-Con, which is this week from July 14-17, and if you're a Kikaida fan of the television live-action/anime/manga series, you might want to check out this presentation brought to you by DC Comics. Final notes. I have checked the CMX Manga webpage and can't find anything yet on Kikaider Code 02. Therefore, if anybody do have any info about this title, please post it in this forum. Now another curiousity I have about this. If our favorite red & blue android is being released in the US in manga form by CMX Manga, I'm kinda curious what the future holds for this? Also, what are DC Comics/AOL Time Warner plan to do with this and the other Japanese titles?

My avatar is from Kikaider Code 02. I don't think I need to say who it is, though. Kinda obvious. The white eyes are growing on me...Basically, it's a re-telling of the Kikaider story. All the character designs have been upgraded to a more realistic look, while retaining their awesomeness. The story is the same, but several twists have been thrown in, based around the story and characters. In all honesty, I can't wait 'till my comic shop gets these.

Hey thanks for the info Hakaida X! By the way, when did Kikaider Code 02 come out anyways? If your avatar is from Code 02, I'm really curious now to see how Kikaida looks like! In fact let me change that, I would like to see how all the characters look like updated! So now that CMX Manga will be bringing in the English translated version of the manga, at least that's something to be exited about no doubt. Also, do you know if there's anything on the internet where we can get images/info on Kikaider Code 02? That would be a big help!

i could only find cover shots of the manga... looks good! Curious to see what the interior artwork is like.

The covers remind me a little of the Machine Man mini-series that Barry Windsor Smith did. Then again, MM ALWAYS reminded me of Kikaida Wink

I've checked out the scans of the first three or four volumes and from what I can tell, they've pretty much changed the entire story. X__x Frankly, I'm not fond of Hinano replacing Masaru, but I'll glance at the first volume when it gets translated.

I kinda remember this Kikaider 02 thing surfaced many months back. But, I think that might have been before all this talk of bringing the manga to the US.
